Waldbad Birkerteich Helmstedt

The Waldbad Birkerteich is located at Maschweg 13 on the southern edge of Helmstedt. It is a traditional natural swimming pool with spacious sunbathing lawns, old trees, and a quiet atmosphere. It is precisely this tranquility and nature that make it a perfect festival backdrop.

Local heroes as the motto

The festival consciously focuses on the motto “local heroes”. The stages will primarily feature bands from the Helmstedt region, the Braunschweig area, and the neighboring Wolfsburg and Saxony-Anhalt regions. This creates a platform for the regional music scene, which rarely receives so much attention.

Two alternating stages

With two alternating stages, the festival can minimize waiting times between performances. While one band plays, the next sets up on the second stage. This creates an almost continuous concert flow of around 10 bands throughout the festival evening.

Tiered ticket prices as an incentive for advance purchase

The tiered ticket prices (13 € early, 15 € late, 17 € box office) reward early advance purchase — a proven model that gives organizers planning security and offers festival-goers a financial incentive to decide in advance.

Catering by DLRG and Pool Pavilion

Culinary catering is provided by the local DLRG Helmstedt group and the Waldbad's pool pavilion. Bratwurst, fries, drinks, salads, and sweet treats are offered at fair prices. The DLRG uses the proceeds for its club activities and lifeguard training.

Atmosphere: Water-Forest-Music

The special feature of the festival is the unique combination of the Waldbad atmosphere and live music. Swimming is possible before the concert, the sunbathing lawn invites you to relax between sets, and in the late evening, lights twinkle over the still water of the Birkerteich.

The exact date for 2026 will be published by the organizing committee in spring 2026 on elm-boerde.de. The event usually takes place in August.
