Polle on the Weser is a place with history. The castle ruins, the cable ferry, and the Münchhausenland form a backdrop that is perfect for a gathering of historic vehicles. Every year, classic car enthusiasts from the Weserbergland and beyond gather here.
At the Cable Ferry
The cable ferry, which connects Polle with the opposite bank of the Weser, is one of the last of its kind in Lower Saxony. It is powered by the current of the Weser and is itself considered a technical monument. Against this special backdrop, the classic cars present their patina, their lovingly restored lines, and their chrome.
Variety of Vehicles
The spectrum ranges from pre-war vehicles to classics from the 1950s to 1970s, and youngtimers from the 1980s and 1990s. Passenger cars, motorcycles, light commercial vehicles, and occasionally tractors gather at the meeting point. The variety of makes and models is part of the appeal – each car tells its own story.
Atmosphere of a Village Gathering
Unlike large, organized classic car shows, the Oldtimer-Treffen Polle is characterized by a relaxed, almost familiar atmosphere. Owners are available to answer questions, admirers inspect the vehicles, and lively exchanges develop between the rows. Snack stands and drinks provide culinary accompaniment.
Connection of Tradition and Nature
The Münchhausenland is characterized by its scenic beauty. The combination of natural scenery, historic ferry, and classic car meeting makes the event an experience that is more than just a vehicle show. The drive through the Weser valley alone is worth the visit.
