May Day with Classics

May 1st is a classic day for oldtimer meetings in many northern German cities. In Bassum, the meeting at Freudenburg has established itself as a firm fixture and is considered the kick-off for the open-air season on the grounds. The meeting also marks the start of the Bassum Open Air program, which hosts several concerts in the following weeks.

Strict Selection: H-Plates Only

A special feature of the meeting is the strict admission rule: only vehicles with H-plates are allowed, meaning vehicles that are at least 30 years old and largely in their original condition. This rule ensures a high-quality field of participants and excludes modern tuned vehicles. Cars from any era, motorcycles, tractors, and trucks (commercial vehicles) are welcome.

Freudenburg as the Venue

The Freudenburg at Amtsfreiheit 1 is part of the historic monastery ensemble on the edge of Bassum's town center. The park-like grounds offer ample space for a large vehicle exhibition, giving visitors plenty of room to browse at their leisure and chat with the owners.
