Eight-hour culture night in the old town of Neustadt a.d.Aisch
When the sun sets in Neustadt an der Aisch, the NeustadtNacht begins: eight hours, around 20 acts, a dozen venues. From the market square and the town church to the town wall, the small Middle Franconian town becomes a continuous cultural stage. The idea: a cultural festival that doesn't rely on a single main act but on the variety of simultaneous experiences.
NeustadtNacht was founded in 2004 by the Kulturverein Neustadt/Aisch e.V., which is dedicated to promoting cultural life in the city and the district of Neustadt a.d.Aisch-Bad Windsheim. The 20th edition took place in 2025 – the anniversary was celebrated with an additional street artist festival in July. NeustadtNacht itself remains the heart of the event and one of the biggest crowd-pullers in the Middle Franconian region.
The concept is decentralized: Instead of one main stage, there is a map of ten to twelve locations in the old town, each with its own character:
A significant part of NeustadtNacht is the free children's program in the afternoon: interactive activities, storytelling formats, and age-appropriate concerts. NeustadtNacht has thus developed into a family festival attended by young parents from across the entire district.
Neustadt an der Aisch is located in Middle Franconia (Bavaria), between Nuremberg and Würzburg, in the district of Neustadt a.d.Aisch-Bad Windsheim. With its approximately 13,000 inhabitants, the town benefits from its compact, easily walkable old town during NeustadtNacht – all venues are within a five to ten-minute walk of each other.
The 2026 edition follows the proven format of NeustadtNacht: eight hours, around 20 acts, twelve venues. The program will be finalized and published in early May 2026, with printed program booklets distributed throughout the town.
The concept of many small stages is once again at the center: those who want to experience NeustadtNacht stroll from venue to venue, listen to a band, stop by a "Stadtmauer" concert, and return to the market square where the larger acts perform. The castle courtyard will feature concerts by the municipal music school and the Protestant church's children's choir – a regular program item for years.
As in previous years, NeustadtNacht 2026 offers a vibrant and diverse children's program in the afternoon with interactive, listening, and discovery stations. Admission for children is free.
As of May 2026, the complete program is in the final stages of publication. The following program structure is based on the established format of NeustadtNacht (example structure, not a list of 2026 acts):
The final acts for 2026 will be listed on neustadtkultur.de and in the printed program booklet – the content tradition since 2004 guarantees the spectrum from classical music (Town Church, Castle Courtyard) to folk and singer-songwriters ("Stadtmauer") to bands and dance theater (Market Square).
Neustadt (Aisch) train station on the Nuremberg–Würzburg line – hourly service from Nuremberg Hbf in approx. 50 min. By car via A3 (exit Schlüsselfeld) or federal highways B8/B470. Parking around the old town.
Program booklets are distributed throughout the town and available online at neustadtkultur.de. Ticket conditions are set by the cultural association before each edition – the children's program is free.
