First Easter Kirmes in Nassau β three days of family fun at the swimming pool car park in April 2026
With the Nassauer Osterkirmes, the city of Nassau is expanding its event calendar with a new, family-oriented format. Until now, the Kirmes season in Nassau was mainly associated with the Michelsmarkt in late summer β now a spring date has been added.
The venue is the swimming pool car park, which, thanks to its location and size, offers enough space for rides and food stalls without blocking traffic in the city centre. Its location on the outskirts of the city allows for a relaxed festival visit with children and is easily accessible on foot and by car.
The concept is geared towards families. Classic rides β carousels, children's rides, a swing boat β plus food stalls with fries, bratwurst, roasted almonds, and cotton candy. No mega attractions, but a manageable Kirmes with a small, compact offering.
The festival period from Holy Saturday, April 4th to Easter Monday, April 6th, 2026, covers the long Easter holidays, offering a nice destination for families spending the holidays at home.
The premiere is organised by the Michelsmarkt-Verein, the City of Nassau, and participating showmen β a collaboration that shows how a small town can create new festival traditions through its own initiative.
The 2026 premiere marks the start of a new festival tradition in Nassau. The Michelsmarkt-Verein, the City of Nassau, and several showmen are bringing the event to life together, complementing the traditional Michelsmarkt in late summer.
The exact programme for 2026 will be published by the organiser in advance. The structure follows the proven cornerstones of a classic family Volksfest:
Venue: Schwimmbadparkplatz, 56377 Nassau.
Date: Holy Saturday, April 4th from 1 PM to Easter Monday, April 6th, 2026.
Admission: Free.
Getting there: By car via the B260, parking around the swimming pool. By train to Nassau, a short walk to the swimming pool.
