Wine & Dine or Picnic at Weingut Helmut Schmitt on the Nahe Wine Route
The Komm näher series by Nahe winemakers has established itself as one of the most distinguished marketing formats in the German wine scene. Instead of large folk festivals (Volksfeste), the series focuses on intimate events in special locations, emphasizing wine, atmosphere, and personal exchange. The Nahebar Guldental is one of the important stops in this series.
Weingut Helmut Schmitt is located in Guldental on the Nahe Wine Route, one of the most beautiful wine routes in the Nahe wine region. The traditional family estate provides its courtyard, vaulted cellar, and garden as event locations. The combination of classic winery architecture and a relaxed festival atmosphere shapes the mood of the Nahebar.
The format differs from classic wine festivals through the choice between two concepts: Wine & Dine means the organizers offer a matching menu for the wines, served at set tables. Picnic atmosphere implies the option to picnic with your own blanket and basket at the winery and taste the wines of the participating winemakers.
Several Nahe winemakers present their wines; the selection is made by the organizer to showcase the diversity of the wine region. Live music accompanies the program over the three days, creating the relaxed summer ambiance that characterizes the Komm näher series.
The 2026 edition continues the proven format of the Komm näher series. Three days of relaxed wine evenings in a winery atmosphere combine wine, food, and music into an atmospheric summer experience on the Nahe Wine Route.
The exact 2026 program, including reservation options for Wine & Dine, will be communicated via the Komm näher website. The structure follows the proven key points of previous years.
