Premiere of the Nahe-Sommerfest as successor to the Spießbratenfest
The legendary Idar-Oberstein Spießbratenfest was the largest Volksfest in the Nahe region for decades – with Spießbraten (roast pork), beer, rides, and a loyal fan base that flocked to the gemstone city every year. With the Nahe-Sommerfest, a new concept will launch in 2026, continuing the tradition while setting new accents – a broader range of showmen, a modern stage programme, four days of festivities, and a new organiser (Rohde Baudeko & Gastronomie GmbH).
The venue is the spacious grounds of Messe Idar-Oberstein on John-F.-Kennedy-Straße. Over 30 showmen and exhibitors will bring rides and festival classics to the site: Breakdancer, bumper cars, large wave flyers, Ferris wheel variants, children's carousels, game stalls, shooting galleries, and snack stands offering bratwurst, fries, candied almonds, crêpes, and cocktail bars. Open daily from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
