Mystica Hamelon – Medieval and Fantasy Spectacle

150 Program Items in the Old Town

With over 150 program items, Mystica Hamelon is one of Northern Germany's largest medieval and fantasy festivals. The historic Old Town of Hameln, with its Weser Renaissance architecture, provides a perfect backdrop for staging medieval and fantastical scenes.

More Than 100 Medieval Stalls

Craftsmen, blacksmiths, leatherworkers, basket weavers, potters, and many other trades present their work in medieval style. In addition, merchants offer drinking horns, swords, medieval clothing, dragon figures, fantasy books, and much more.

Fire-Eaters, Jugglers, Knights, Dragons

The program includes fire-eaters, jugglers, knights in armor and with weapons, dragon performances, jesters, acrobats, magicians, and musicians playing medieval instruments. These performances are spread across the market square, alleys, and courtyards over three days.

New Stage 2026: Black House Beergarden

A new feature for the 2026 edition is the additional stage at the Black House Beergarden. This expands the festival area with another venue, increasing the diversity of the program.

Free Admission

Unlike many large medieval festivals, admission to Mystica Hamelon is free. This open policy makes the festival particularly accessible and attracts tens of thousands of visitors from all over Northern Germany every year.

Sunday Shopping

On Sunday, March 8th, 2026, Hameln's city center will open its shops in addition to Mystica Hamelon for a Sunday shopping event. This allows festival visits to be combined with a shopping spree.
