Ice Fever on the Lusatian Neisse

The twin city of Guben/Gubin is located directly on the German-Polish border. Every year, the traditional Christmas market on the third Advent transforms Friedrich-Wilke-Platz and the historic Alte Färberei into a winter wonderland.

December 12th and 13th, 2026 — The Motto

In 2026, the market is under the motto "im Eisfieber" (in the ice fever). Live ice sculpting in the market, ice stock sport for young and old, and the speed of the air hockey table playfully incorporate the theme.

Setting — Friedrich-Wilke-Platz and Alte Färberei

Friedrich-Wilke-Platz is Guben's central city square. The neighboring Alte Färberei (Old Dye House) recalls Guben's history as a textile city — and during Christmas, it's an atmospheric indoor space for concerts and children's programs.
