Music and Wine Festival Guldental

Guldental Music Association e.V. as Organizer

The Guldental Music Association is one of the traditional associations in the village, primarily cultivating brass band music and playing in a large orchestra as well as smaller ensembles. With the annual Music and Wine Festival, the association organizes one of its most important events – the proceeds go towards youth work, instrument funds, and the association's activities. Members and helpers organize the festival independently and provide the musical accompaniment.

Weingut Helmut Schmitt

The venue is Weingut Helmut Schmitt at Naheweinstraße 48 – an established family business that handles a large part of the catering. Riesling, white and gray Burgundy, Pinot Noir, and the typical 'Schoppen' (glass) wines of the Nahe region are served at the stalls. The winery's inner and outer courtyards provide space for the stage, catering area, long tables, and dance floor.

Program and Atmosphere

The weekend is spread over Saturday and Sunday. Live music is the common thread – from the performance of the host music association itself to guest bands from the region. The musical spectrum is broad: brass music, dance bands, cover bands, traditional pieces. Catering with wine, beer, non-alcoholic drinks, Flammkuchen (flatbread pizza), Bratwurst (grilled sausage), Schwenkbraten (grilled pork neck), and specialties from the association's members ensure the culinary accompaniment.

Guldental and the Nahe Valley

With almost 300 hectares of vineyards, Guldental is one of the larger wine-growing municipalities in the Nahe region. The vineyards stretch along the slopes around the village and offer ideal conditions for Riesling and Burgundy varieties. Those who wish to combine their festival visit with a walk will find signposted paths through the vineyards and views of the entire Nahe valley.
