Free Season Finale Chamber Concert "Kai & Friends" at the Philharmonie Ludwigshafen with works by Fazil Say, Schnittke, Saint-Saëns, and Enescu
The Music for All! series is an example of the cultural policy mission of the Deutsche Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland-Pfalz. It makes classical music accessible free of charge and without registration at the Philharmonie Ludwigshafen – a deliberate offer for all those who are not typically part of the classical concert routine: students, families, newcomers, seniors, migrants, tourists. The concerts are musically demanding but moderated, concise, and inviting in atmosphere.
For the 2025/26 season finale on June 11, 2026, the ensemble "Kai & Friends", led by pianist Kai Adomeit, will perform. Other participants include:
This ensemble allows for flexible chamber music programming, from piano trios to string quartets and mixed chamber ensembles.
The program spans a wide range. Fazil Say – the Turkish composer and pianist – represents the contemporary connection between classical tradition and Turkish soundscapes. Alfred Schnittke brings the late Soviet, polystylistic avant-garde. Camille Saint-Saëns embodies French Romanticism and its chamber music elegance. George Enescu bridges Romanian folk music with Western European classical music. This program choice makes the concert a compact journey through the 19th and 20th centuries in four very different aesthetic languages.
The concept is uncompromisingly simple: Free admission, no registration. Whoever comes, sits. The Philharmonie Ludwigshafen offers ample seating. The concert typically lasts around 60 to 75 minutes – short enough not to overwhelm concert newcomers, but long enough to convey musical substance.
The concert will last approximately 60 to 75 minutes. Recommendation: arrive early, as seats are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
The concert program is published by the organizer:
