Northern Germany's coziest biker meeting in the heart of Dithmarschen
When around 1,100 motorcycles roll into the village of Frestedt, with only 200 inhabitants, on the second weekend of June, the district of Dithmarschen transforms into a stronghold of the North German motorcycle scene. The annual meeting of the Motorradfreunde Frestedt e.V. (MF Frestedt) has long been an institution in Schleswig-Holstein – for over four decades, the small club has organized this event, which combines the charm of a village festival with the passion of a regionally sought-after biker event.
What makes the meeting special is its open character: You don't have to be a club member, ride a specific model, or wear a leather vest. The main thing is that you arrive on two wheels. On the festival grounds at Bürger Weg, Harley-Davidsons park next to Japanese touring enduros, BMW boxers next to creative custom builds – and it's precisely the variety of uncommon classics, rare vehicles, and custom bikes that makes a walk around the grounds a small exhibition.
The festival grounds host live bands and DJ sets throughout the weekend. In between, there's what simply belongs to a North German meeting: bratwurst from the grill, coffee and homemade cake from the Frestedt helpers, and cold beer. Overnight stays are in your own tent directly on the grounds – camping is part of the experience.
The voluntary commitment of an entire village stands behind the meeting. The MF Frestedt celebrated their 45th anniversary in 2025 – a remarkable milestone for a club based in a community with fewer than 250 inhabitants. The net proceeds from the meeting have always flowed into social and cultural projects in the region, from the children's playground to the volunteer fire department.
Anyone visiting the meeting should take time for the surroundings. Dithmarschen, the westernmost district of Schleswig-Holstein, is famous for its cabbage and kale landscape, the North Sea coast with Büsum and Friedrichskoog, the Wadden Sea National Park, and endless, low-traffic country roads that are hard to find better for motorcyclists. The drive through the wide marsh is part of the experience.
From June 12th to 14th, 2026, the small village of Frestedt will open its festival grounds for the 43rd time for the North German biker scene. Around 1,100 motorcyclists are expected over the weekend – as in previous years, with an impressive mix of classics, modern machines, and creative custom bikes.
The program follows the proven structure: Friday evening arrival and cozy get-together, Saturday is the main day with live concerts in the evening, Sunday a relaxed wind-down and departure. Food with bratwurst, coffee, and homemade cake is organized by the club.
The detailed program for 2026 (band selection, DJ sets, special events) will be announced by the organizer in the weeks before the meeting on the club's website and Facebook page. The classic schedule:
