Bikers' pilgrimage to the holy site of Altötting with an open-air thanksgiving service
Altötting is Bavaria's most important pilgrimage site – and once a year, the expansive Kapellplatz belongs to motorcyclists. At the Motorcycle Pilgrimage, bikers from all over Southern Germany come together to conclude the season with an open-air thanksgiving service.
The organizer is the Capuchin Monastery of St. Konrad. Brother Marinus Parzinger, head of the Capuchin community at the holy site, sums up the purpose of the pilgrimage: to give thanks together for a hopefully accident-free season and to pray for safe journeys, successful relationships, and shared responsibility for a world worth living in. The service takes place in all weather conditions.
The thanksgiving mass begins in the morning on the Kapellplatz, the heart of the holy site with its famous Chapel of Grace. Afterwards, the St. Konrad Church, managed by the Capuchins, invites visitors. The event is open to motorcyclists of all kinds and ages – an atmospheric, communal season finale between spirituality and biker culture.
On Sunday, September 27, 2026, the Capuchin Monastery of St. Konrad invites you again to the Motorcycle Pilgrimage in Altötting. From 10:30 AM to approximately 12:00 PM, bikers will celebrate an open-air thanksgiving mass on the Kapellplatz.
The focus is on giving thanks for a hopefully accident-free season and reflecting on many impressive tours. The event marks the traditional end of the season; afterwards, the St. Konrad Church invites visitors.
The service takes place in all weather conditions. Access to Kapellplatz only via Mühldorfer Straße. Detailed program on a downloadable flyer from the organizers.
