Traditional local and craft market with roots in the 17th century
The history of the Molsberger Markt dates back to the period after the Thirty Years' War, when the population in the devastated Westerwald villages organized the rebuilding of a new economic life. Over the centuries, the market date at the end of September has become firmly established in Molsberg. Today, the local community invites you to the traditional market Sunday in the historic village center as part of the event calendar of the Wallmerod municipality – and in 2026, additionally in the festival calendar for the 750th anniversary of Wallmerod.
The Molsberger Markt's assortment is deliberately focused on crafts, art, and regional products. Potters, wood artists, basket weavers, textile craftspeople, jewelry designers, and artisans present their works in a relaxed, rural atmosphere. In addition, beekeepers, cheese dairies, distilleries, and sausage and bread makers offer specialties from the Westerwald. The market is characterized by handmade quality and personal advice.
Associations and restaurateurs from Molsberg and the surrounding area provide catering. Bratwurst, potato pancakes (Reibekuchen), Westerwald specialties, coffee, cake, and autumnal drinks round off the market stroll. The market is a meeting place for families, regular visitors, and day-trippers who appreciate the rural Westerwald flair.
