3rd edition of the courtyard flea market in the Landau village of Mörlheim with over 30 participating courtyards
Courtyard flea markets are a modern form of neighborhood or village flea market. Instead of setting up in a central location, residents open their courtyards, front gardens, and garages simultaneously. Visitors move from address to address, browse the offerings, and take the opportunity to chat directly with the sellers. The village of Mörlheim – located east of Landau's center – is particularly well-suited for this format: compact location, friendly neighborhood, and an engaged association landscape.
Behind the Mörlheim Courtyard Flea Market is the cultural association “Zugabe” Mörlheim e.V., which has been enriching the cultural life in the village for years. With concerts, readings, festivals, and now also the courtyard flea market, the association creates spaces for encounters and strengthens the village community. The courtyard flea market is organized centrally: registration of participating courtyards, creation of the online map on ld-mörlheim.de, provision of balloons as markers, and press work.
The range of goods is diverse: children's clothing, toys, books, vinyl, dishes, furniture, tools, garden items, collectibles. Some courtyards also offer coffee and homemade cake, while others serve snacks or refreshments to their guests. This transforms the flea market into a vibrant neighborhood festival – buyers often stay longer than planned, neighbors meet, and the village seems unusually lively.
With the courtyard flea market, the residents of Mörlheim promote the sustainable use of second-hand goods. Instead of throwing away functional items, they find new owners. At the same time, the neighborhood is made visible, and the area is positioned as a desirable place to live.
The interactive online map at ld-mörlheim.de shows all participating courtyards. Colorful balloons mark the participant addresses on-site. Small bills for cash, a bag or small cart for your finds, and sturdy shoes are the most important equipment. The market takes place regardless of the weather.
The 2026 edition marks the third iteration of the Mörlheim Courtyard Flea Market. With over 30 participating courtyards, the format has already established itself as a fixture in the Mörlheim event calendar after just two years. The cultural association “Zugabe” Mörlheim e.V. coordinates registrations, creates the map, and promotes the market in the region.
Buyers can explore the village on foot or by bike, browsing, chatting, and enjoying refreshments. Individual courtyards offer coffee, cake, or small snacks – making the courtyard flea market a relaxed family outing.
The exact program for 2026 will be published by the organizer in spring 2026. The structure follows the proven cornerstones of previous years:
