27th Model Show Days at Maxipark — Model Building in Full Scale

The Model Show Days Maximilianpark Hamm is one of the largest model building gatherings in the Ruhr area and is entering its 27th edition on the weekend of September 5th to 6th, 2026. For both days, the Maximilianpark in Hamm will be transformed into an open-air stage for model builders from all over Germany — with demonstrations of model vehicles, model ships, and model aircraft in scales ranging from 1:8 to 1:144.

Three Sectors — Land, Water, Air

• Model Vehicles — functional RC trucks, model racing tracks, vintage car replicas, convoys
• Model Ships — demonstrations on the park pond: sailboats, steamships, motor yachts, warships, tugboats, functional models
• Model Aircraft — flight demonstrations with electric planes, internal combustion models, helicopters, aerobatic models

In addition, there are static exhibitions — detailed models in display cases, diorama landscapes, technical explanation boards. Model building clubs from Hamm, the Ruhr area, and all of NRW will present their work.

For Tinkerers, Connoisseurs, and Enthusiasts

The Model Show Days are the forum for the scene: model builders exchange tips, hobby dealers offer kits and spare parts, professionals explain control technology and the latest drives. Children can try out model vehicles — many clubs offer taster sessions with RC control.

Maximilianpark Hamm — Industrial History Meets Nature

The Maximilianpark is located in the Werries district in the north of Hamm — on the site of the former Maximilian colliery. The landmark is the Glass Elephant, a 35-meter-high, walkable steel-and-glass sculpture, created from a coal washing plant of the colliery. The park covers 22 hectares with themed gardens, a butterfly house, playgrounds, and event areas. The Model Show Days have been a firm fixture in the park's event calendar for almost three decades.

Hamm — City in the Eastern Ruhr Area

Hamm is an independent city in the eastern Ruhr area in North Rhine-Westphalia with around 180,000 inhabitants. Known for the Hamm railway junction — one of the largest marshalling yards in Europe — and for Hamm Castle and the international horse racing track. The Maximilianpark is one of the most popular local recreation areas.
