29 Years of Fun Run in Misburg

SG Misburg, one of the largest popular sports clubs in Hannover-Misburg, has been organizing the fun run for almost three decades. The run has evolved from a local club event into a regional one, bringing together hundreds of runners from Hannover and the surrounding area each year. The format deliberately focuses on breadth — beginners, families, hobby runners, and ambitious competitive athletes should all feel equally welcome.

Sportpark Misburg as Start and Finish Point

The Sportpark Misburg at Seckbruchstraße 22 is the sports facility of SG Misburg and offers ideal conditions for the fun run: changing rooms, sanitary facilities, a cafeteria, ample parking, a sports field, and a tartan track. All distances start and finish at the sports park. Afterwards, participants and companions meet in the club house for refreshments and a convivial get-together.

Distances for Every Level

The exact distances for 2026 will be published by SG Misburg on sgmisburg.de and in the official announcement on LADV. Based on experience, the program includes a children's run for the youngest participants, a short beginner's distance (approx. 5 km), a medium distance (approx. 10 km), and possibly a longer route. The courses are designed so that hobby runners can also achieve their personal best — relatively flat, well-signposted, with refreshment stations.

Route Through the Misburger Wald

The Misburger Wald is one of Hannover's green lungs in the east. With its extensive forest and meadow areas, well-maintained paths, and natural atmosphere, it offers ideal conditions for a fun run. The routes lead through light beech stands, past clearings, and over gravel and asphalt paths. In April, the fresh green begins to sprout, birds sing, and the air is clear.

Part of the Sparkassen-LAUFPASS

The Misburger Volkslauf is part of the Sparkassen-LAUFPASS Region Hannover. Those who complete several runs in the series collect points for an overall ranking and qualify for special prizes and awards. In addition to the Misburger Volkslauf, the series includes other established runs in Hannover and the surrounding area.

Family-Friendly

The Misburger Volkslauf is explicitly aimed at families as well. The children's run gives the youngest athletes the opportunity to participate in a real competition. Parents can either run themselves, accompany their children, or simply enjoy the day at the sports park.
