With this solo format, Michael Patrick Kelly returns to his musical roots as a singer-songwriter, focusing on the personal connection between artist and audience.

Unlike classic large concerts with a band, stage show, and special guests, the artist performs alone on stage during the matinee. With guitar, piano, and voice — the instruments with which his musical career began — he interprets songs from his 35-year repertoire in stripped-down arrangements that illuminate the essence of the pieces anew.

The matinee format is unusual in the pop genre but has a long tradition in classical music and jazz. Early afternoon concerts create a special atmosphere: the daylight, the fresh mood, and a different kind of audience lead to a more intimate, less mass-oriented concert culture.

The Loreley Open-Air Stage, with its unique location on the plateau above the Rhine, offers an atmospheric backdrop even during the day. In sunshine, it opens up views of the Upper Middle Rhine Valley UNESCO World Heritage site — the river with its ships, the castles on the opposite bank (Burg Katz, Burg Maus, Liebenstein, Sterrenberg), and the vineyards on the slopes.

The Early Access from 11:30 AM or 12:00 PM is for fans who want to secure a good standing spot in front of the stage or take advantage of specific merchandise offers. Regular admission begins slightly later, and the show itself starts at 2:00 PM.

With this matinee, Michael Patrick Kelly complements his tour stop at the Loreley — on the previous evening (June 13), he already performed the evening Special Show with band and special guests. Both concerts together offer fans the opportunity to experience the artist in two very different, complementary formats.
