Candlelight Concerts as a Global Format

Candlelight concerts have become a popular format worldwide in recent years. In historical rooms, churches, or modern venues, classical and popular pieces are performed against a backdrop of hundreds or thousands of candles. The concept combines a high-quality musical experience with visual staging – thus creating an atmosphere that a standard concert can hardly achieve.

Markthalle Delmenhorst as the Venue

The Markthalle Delmenhorst at Rathausplatz 2, with its high hall and urban character, is a perfect venue. The over 1,000 real candles will be arranged in front of, beside, and around the stage, so that the audience finds themselves in the middle of a sea of lights.

Musical Program

The repertoire combines three worlds:

• Classical Works: well-known movements from works by Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Vivaldi, Debussy, and other great composers.
• Pop Classics: acoustic interpretations of well-known pop hits, experienced anew in a classical arrangement.
• Film Music: themes from „The Lord of the Rings“, „Harry Potter“, Disney classics, and other cinematic masterpieces.

Evening Program

The concert begins at 8 PM and lasts about two hours with an intermission. Admission is 30–60 minutes prior, allowing guests to take their seats in peace and soak in the atmosphere.

Tickets and Second Performance

Tickets cost €29 and are available online via rausgegangen.de and the Markthalle's ticket shop. A second performance of „Melodies & Flames“ is announced for November 8, 2026 – those who miss the January date will have another opportunity in the autumn.
