A Spring Fixture Since 1992

The Meissen Pottery Market has taken place every spring since 1992 in the historic old town of the porcelain city of Meißen. The organizer is the Gewerbeverein Meißen (Meißen Business Association), which has developed the market into one of the most important events in the Saxon pottery calendar. The approximately 50 exhibitors come from all over Germany and present unique pieces from their own production.

Ceramics in All Its Forms

The spectrum ranges from functional ceramic pieces to decorative vases and sculptures, as well as artistic individual works. Bunzlau pottery, Bürgel pottery, Saxon tradition, and contemporary concepts stand side by side. Anyone looking for a dinnerware set, a bowl, or a gift will find an exceptionally wide selection here.

In the Shadow of the Cathedral

Heinrichsplatz and Elbstraße are located directly below Albrechtsburg Castle and Meißen Cathedral. The medieval backdrop of the old town lends the pottery market a special atmosphere. Food stalls offer freshly tapped drinks, grilled, smoked, and baked goods.

Meißen – The Porcelain City

Meißen is the birthplace of European porcelain – the porcelain manufactory was founded here in 1710. The city in the Meißen district (AGS 14627), in the state of Saxony, lives with this tradition to this day. The pottery market complements the high-caliber porcelain manufactory with the artisanal, down-to-earth side of ceramic culture.

Pottery Market Meißen — edition 2026
