Maudacher Winterzauber

An event by the Wald- und Wiesenfreunde Maudach

The Maudacher Winterzauber was initiated by the Wald- und Wiesenfreunde Maudach e.V. to create a meeting point for the residents of the western districts of Ludwigshafen on an Advent weekend. With its 12th edition, the event has established itself as a fixture in the Advent calendar. The association sees itself as a link between recreation at the Maudacher Bruch and district culture, and reinvests its proceeds into local projects.

Hobbyists and clubs instead of professional market stalls

Unlike large commercial Christmas markets, the Maudacher Winterzauber deliberately focuses on hobby craftspeople and clubs from the district. At the wooden stalls and pavilions, handmade Advent wreaths, woodwork, ceramics, jewelry, sewn gift items, and lovingly crafted trinkets are displayed alongside jams, honey products, and homemade liqueurs. The stalls are managed directly by the creators, giving the market a very personal, almost familial atmosphere.

Fire show, children's program, and culinary delights

A highlight of the program is the evening fire show, which bathes the wintery grounds in atmospheric light. For children, there are craft activities, a visit from St. Nicholas, and small participatory events. Culinary delights are provided by Palatinate clubs: mulled wine, children's punch, bratwurst, potato pancakes, soups, waffles, and sweet pastries are on the menu.

Relocation to the Bruchfesthalle

After several years at various locations in the district, the market moved to the Bruchfesthalle at Maudacher Bruch for the first time in 2025. The new location offers covered areas, more space for stalls, and better infrastructure. The Winterzauber is also expected to take place at this location in 2026, combining proximity to the Maudacher Bruch nature area with a practical event structure.
