HGV Maschen, Horst, Hörsten

The Maschen, Horst, Hörsten Trade and Commerce Association (HGV) has been the most important organizer in the south of the Hamburg metropolitan region for decades. With the Maschener Dorffest in autumn, the HGV already runs an established major event. The Frühlingsfest expands the portfolio with a spring date that rounds off the open-air event calendar for Maschen.

Maschen Village Square as Festival Backdrop

The Maschen village square is located in the center of the district and offers the ideal backdrop for events with rides, a stage, and market stalls. Its central location and good accessibility by S-Bahn make it a natural meeting place, which will be used for the premiere of the Frühlingsfest.

Three Days of Spring Atmosphere

The festival spans three days with daily opening hours. Friday 2 PM-10 PM for the festival kickoff in the late afternoon and evening, Saturday 12 PM-10 PM as the main day with an extensive program, Sunday 12 PM-6 PM as family day with an earlier closing time. This structure follows the classic funfair weekend and is tailored for families.

From Carousel to Crafts

The program combines rides with a craft market. Carousels, children's rides, and dodgems appeal to families, while craft stalls with ceramics, jewelry, textiles, and spring decorations target adult visitors. Live music on the stage provides atmospheric accompaniment.

Premiere with Future Prospects

As a premiere, the format has an experimental character. The HGV will evaluate the response and decide on its continuation. Should the Frühlingsfest become permanently established, Maschen will gain another event date in its annual calendar, and the HGV will have a second pillar alongside the autumn Dorffest.
