Spring wine festival on the Mandelwiese at the Waldböckelheim Weintor with brass band and Nahe wines
The Mandelblüte Waldböckelheim is one of the most beautiful events of the Saisonauftakt Nahe. When the almond trees along the Nahe wine route unfold their magnificent pink blossoms in mid-April, Weingut Emmerich-Koebernik, together with the village of Waldböckelheim, invites you to the Mandelwiese at the Weintor. For four days, vintners, locals, and visitors celebrate the first warm days with Nahe wines, music by the Waldböckelheimer Blaskapelle, and regional dishes.
The festival is part of the large Saisonauftakt Nahe (April 16–19, 2026), during which around 50 wineries and villages along the Nahe wine route open their season with special offers. Waldböckelheim, with its almond blossoms, is one of the visual highlights of this opening.
The pink almond blossom is a landmark of the southern wine-growing regions in the Palatinate and along the Nahe. When thousands of almond trees between Bad Münster am Stein, Norheim, Niederhausen, Schloßböckelheim, and Waldböckelheim bloom in mid to late April, the Nahe wine route transforms into a delicate pink landscape. Waldböckelheim has made this natural spectacle the occasion for its own festival – the Mandelwiese at the Weintor is brought to life with a stage, catering, and a festive atmosphere.
Weingut Emmerich-Koebernik in Waldböckelheim is among the renowned family wineries of the Nahe region. On the steep slopes around the village, Riesling, Spätburgunder, and Weißburgunder are primarily cultivated. The winery participates in the Saisonauftakt with tastings, cellar tours, and catering at the Mandelwiese and is one of the driving forces behind the festival.
The Waldböckelheimer Blaskapelle provides the musical accompaniment during the festival. The repertoire ranges from classical brass music, polkas, and waltzes to modern pieces, creating the typical blend of tradition and conviviality that characterizes a wine festival on the Nahe. Morning concerts (Frühschoppen), standing concerts, and musical accompaniment for tastings are standard.
The Saisonauftakt Nahe is the central season opening for Nahe wines. Around 50 wineries and villages participate with individual programs: pop-up temporary wine taverns (Straußwirtschaften), tastings, wine hikes, wine-paired menus, picnics, and farmers' markets. Waldböckelheim, with its almond blossoms, is one of the most visually and atmospherically dense components of this opening.
The 2026 edition of Mandelblüte Waldböckelheim takes place from April 16 to 19, 2026, as part of the Saisonauftakt Nahe. The venue is the Mandelwiese at the Waldböckelheim Weintor. Weingut Emmerich-Koebernik and the Waldböckelheimer Blaskapelle are organizing a four-day festival with Nahe wines, regional dishes, and music under the blooming almond trees.
As in previous years, the almond blossom forms one of the visual and atmospheric highlights of the Saisonauftakt. The detailed program will be updated by Weingut Emmerich-Koebernik and the Weinland Nahe initiative a few weeks before the event on weinland-nahe.de.
The exact program for 2026 will be published by the organizer in spring. The structure follows the proven key points of previous years:
