Running shoes instead of office chairs

On a May evening, western Augsburg transforms into a sea of runners: 14,000 runners in T-shirts and jerseys of their companies, clubs, and authorities set off on the 5.3 km route through the university district and Göggingen. The M-net Company Run Augsburg has been the largest company run in Bavarian Swabia and one of the largest in Southern Germany since 2011.

Two starting waves with a 30-minute interval

To avoid overcrowding the course, participants start in two waves – the first at 6:30 PM, the second at 7:00 PM. The start and finish are located at the Messe Augsburg exhibition center in the Göggingen district of Augsburg, one of the region's central event venues.

The charity spirit

A key component of the company run is the charity campaign. For each entry fee and through additional donations, the run collects a five-figure sum annually for regional social projects. In 2025, €14,127 was distributed to four organizations from the greater Augsburg area: Diakonie Augsburg, Besonders Anders e.V., BRK Aichach-Friedberg, and DKMS (German Bone Marrow Donor File). In 2026, five charity projects are on the funding list.

Accompanying program and live music

Before and after the run, the Augsburg band SM!LE plays on the festival stage at the exhibition grounds. Three concert blocks frame the race events, with charity presentations and award ceremonies in between. The supporting program starts at 5:00 PM and ends at 11:00 PM.

Live or virtual

Those who cannot attend the mass start can run virtually: The company run's app allows the route to be tracked anywhere and included in the rankings. This way, branches outside Augsburg can also be part of the event.

Framework: Stadtsommer Augsburg

The M-net Company Run is part of the Stadtsommer Augsburg (Augsburg City Summer) – a series of sporting and cultural events that shape the Fugger City between spring and autumn. Augsburg is located in the Swabia administrative region (Bavaria), at the confluence of the Wertach and Lech rivers, and with around 300,000 inhabitants, it is the third-largest city in Bavaria. The reservation policy makes the event a must-register: in 2025, around 12,000 of the 14,000 spots were booked within 38 minutes – a record that underscores its popularity.
