A Special Kind of Club Cooperation
The Lyra Choirs 1889 Lustadt are one of the oldest singing clubs in the Southern Palatinate twin municipality of Lustadt. The Lustadt Tennis Club represents the modern sports club. The cooperation of the two clubs for the joint Oktoberfest is an expression of the typical Southern Palatinate club landscape, where cooperation and resource sharing reduce the voluntary effort for everyone involved.
Bavarian Tradition with a Palatinate Accent
The Oktoberfest follows Bavarian tradition with beer service, pork knuckle, bratwurst, chicken, pretzels, and party music. At the same time, the Palatinate background is not neglected: Saumagen (a Palatinate specialty), Palatinate wine, and Palatinate folk songs find their place in the program. This mix is typical for Southern Palatinate Oktoberfests, which are oriented towards the Munich Wiesn without denying their regional identity.
Lyra Sängerheim as the Festival Venue
The Lyra Sängerheim, home of the Lyra Choirs, is the venue. The interior and exterior areas complement each other: the interior hosts the stage program, catering, and dancing, while the exterior offers a beer garden atmosphere with a Bavarian flair. This focus on the club house ensures manageable structures and a family-friendly atmosphere, far removed from the mass crowds of the large Wiesn events.
Festival Days from 6 p.m.
Both festival days start from 6 p.m. This late start time distinguishes the Lustadt Oktoberfest from all-day festivals and clearly positions it as an evening event: come after work, eat, drink, dance, and sing together. The target audience is the people of Lustadt themselves, the members of both clubs, and their friends from the Lingenfeld administrative district.
