About Concert of Cultures
Concert of Cultures — edition 2026
The Concert of Cultures was regularly organized in the summer from 2013 to 2025. For 2026, the festival is again on the agenda of the Lohbrügge district office; the exact date (typically a Sunday afternoon in July) will be published in the months leading up to the event on lohbruegge.de and on LOLA's channels.
As in previous years, the program will be divided between music from the Lohbrügge communities, dance groups, hands-on activities for children, and information booths. In case of bad weather, the program will move to the large hall of LOLA.

Lohbrügge — Intercultural District in Bergedorf
Lohbrügge, located in the Bergedorf district, is one of Hamburg's most populous districts (approx. 40,000 inhabitants) and a microcosm of Hamburg's diversity. People with roots from Iran, Turkey, Russia, Afghanistan, Poland, many African countries, and Latin America shape the neighborhood. The Concert of Cultures responds precisely to this diversity: an intercultural open-air concert with an explicit mission to promote encounters.
Leuschnerpark and LOLA as Partners
The venue is Leuschnerpark, a green oasis next to the LOLA Kulturzentrum — Bergedorf's central socio-cultural hub. In case of bad weather, the program moves into the large hall of LOLA. The festival is jointly organized by the Stadtteilbüro Lohbrügge (Lohbrügge District Office) and LOLA, with support from the Bergedorf district.
Music from Around the World
The stage program is broadly based — recent editions have featured, among others:
- Traditional Afghan Music
- Russian Pop and Bossa Nova
- Alevi Folklore with the BAKM Saz Ensemble
- Hip-Hop from the Hamburg scene
- The KULTURGUT Choir and LOLA's own percussion ensembles
- Dance groups like the Black Panthers
More Than Just Music
The festival is also a social event: international gastronomy from the Lohbrügge communities — Afghan, Turkish, Syrian, Latin American, and other specialties — caters to visitors. Hands-on activities for children, play areas, face painting. Local clubs, youth fire brigades, political parties, and social organizations are represented with information booths.
A Growing Tradition Since 2013
The Concert of Cultures has been held annually since 2013 (with minor pandemic-related interruptions). It has now become one of the fixed summer dates for Lohbrügge and Bergedorf. Admission has always been free — a conscious decision by the organizers to keep the event accessible.
