Festive choir concert with 30 voices and 600 years of stage experience at the CongressForum Frankenthal
The 1st Frankenthaler Männerchor looks back on a history spanning decades and is one of the oldest active singing associations in the Pfalz region. The song evening at the CongressForum represents the annual artistic highlight of its concert activities and, in contrast to smaller performances at club festivals and anniversaries, showcases the ensemble's sophisticated full program.
Under the direction of the choirmaster, the men's choir regularly collaborates with professional soloists and accompanying musicians. The program is compiled to appeal to a broad audience: well-known male choir classics form the foundation, supplemented by romantic songs, sacred pieces, and occasional surprising pop or Schlager adaptations.
The CongressForum Frankenthal is the city's most important concert and conference venue. The large hall offers around 1000 seats and features modern stage technology with acoustics particularly well-suited for choir concerts. The song evening traditionally takes place on a Saturday evening in November.
Beyond the concert, the 1st Frankenthaler Männerchor maintains an active club life with performances at city festivals, memorial events, and church occasions. The song evening also serves as an important source of income and a flagship for member recruitment.
The exact concert program will be published by the choir a few weeks before the concert. The structure follows the proven cornerstones of previous years with a two-part concert and an intermission.
In addition to the regular audience, interested concert-goers from the entire Vorderpfalz region are also invited. The choir collaborates with soloists and accompanying musicians for this concert.
The exact 2026 program will be published by the organizer in the autumn. The structure follows the proven cornerstones of previous years:
The choir is usually accompanied by one or more soloists and a piano or instrumental ensemble.
