Throughout the season, around 100 productions are scheduled – including drama, musical theatre, concerts, readings, children's and youth theatre, as well as guest performances from Germany and abroad.

A City Theatre with Tradition
The Lessingtheater on Harztorwall has been the city's central stage for generations. Named after Gotthold Ephraim Lessing, who worked as a librarian at the Herzog August Bibliothek in Wolfenbüttel from 1770 to 1781, the venue combines classical and contemporary repertoire. The approximately 100 productions presented annually range from spoken word theatre to concerts, opera guest performances, and children's and youth theatre.
