Beach Volleyball on the Island

The Langeoog Beach Volleyball Mixed Tournament is an established sporting event in Langeoog's summer calendar. Expected from June 19th to 21st, 2026 – a weekend from Friday to Sunday – Langeoog beach will transform into a large volleyball arena. Several courts will be marked on the sand, nets will be set up, and over three days, mixed teams will battle for the tournament victory.

6-vs-6 Mixed Format

A special feature of the tournament is the 6-vs-6 mixed format. In the world of beach volleyball, 2-vs-2 and 4-vs-4 formats are standard – Langeoog opts for a classic volleyball rhythm with great team dynamics with its 6-vs-6 format. Each team typically consists of 3 women and 3 men, making the games balanced and versatile.

Venue: Langeoog Beach

The venue is Langeoog beach – specifically at the Dünendurchgang Hauptbad or near the characteristic Bunten Buden. These beach sections are spacious enough for multiple courts and offer optimal conditions for a larger tournament. The soft, white sand of the East Frisian island is ideal for beach volleyball.

Three Days with Three Rounds

The tournament spans three days – Friday to Sunday – with three rounds of play. This structure allows for balanced scheduling:

• Friday: Opening, preliminary round with group stage
• Saturday: Intermediate round, semi-finals
• Sunday: Final round, award ceremony, closing celebration

Island Atmosphere as Accompanying Program

What distinguishes the tournament from a pure sports event is the island atmosphere. Between games, there is time for beach relaxation, sea air, and social gatherings. Langeoog, as a car-free island with its relaxed atmosphere, lends a special charm to the tournament, which clearly stands out from urban beach volleyball tournaments.

Registration and Participation

Registration is done in advance through the Langeoog Island and Tourist Office. Teams are usually registered as a whole – individuals can be assigned to teams. The exact conditions of participation and registration deadlines will be published by the organizer in advance.
