Garden, Lifestyle, and Arts and Crafts at One of the Most Beautiful Moated Castles in the Rhineland
The Landpartie Burg Adendorf is an established event in the Rhineland's calendar — a four-day garden and lifestyle fair set against the unique backdrop of a historic moated castle. In 2026, the event runs from Thursday, May 14th to Sunday, May 17th in the castle gardens and courtyards of Burg Adendorf in Wachtberg-Adendorf (south of Bonn).
Over 180 Exhibitors — Curated Selection
With over 180 exhibitors, the Landpartie offers a wide range of products, but with a deliberate curation — no mainstream mass-produced goods, but hand-picked items from manufactories, studios, and small businesses. The thematic focuses:
- Garden: Plants (roses, perennials, shrubs, herbs), garden furniture, sculptures, tools, water and lighting features
- Home: Home accessories, textiles, ceramics, wooden objects, lamps, mirrors
- Outdoor Lifestyle: Weather-resistant lounge furniture, awnings, outdoor kitchens, grills, fire pits
- Fashion and Jewelry: Lifestyle fashion, hats, bags, handmade jewelry
- Arts and Crafts: Sculptures, glass, paintings, prints
- Gastronomy and Wine: Regional wines, cheeses, olive oils, artisanal products, chocolates, spirits
Around 25,000 Visitors Annually
With approximately 25,000 visitors over the four days, the Landpartie Adendorf is one of the largest events of its kind in the Rhineland. The target audience: an adult, affluent public that values quality, craftsmanship, and originality. Collectors, garden enthusiasts, interior lovers, and design seekers from Bonn, Cologne, and the entire region use these four days for inspiration and shopping.
Burg Adendorf — Renaissance on the Southern Lower Rhine
Burg Adendorf is one of the most beautiful moated castles in the southern Lower Rhine region — a late Gothic-early modern complex with a surrounding moat, high towers, and a unique castle garden. Owned by the von Loë family for centuries, the castle is otherwise not publicly accessible — the Landpartie is one of the few opportunities to explore the entire grounds.
Accompanying Program — Art and Culture
In addition to the exhibitors, the Landpartie offers an accompanying cultural program featuring music (live bands, soloists during breaks), readings, and occasional guided tours of parts of the castle. The on-site gastronomy offers snacks, lunch, coffee, and cake — from Rhineland specialties to Mediterranean snacks.
Wachtberg-Adendorf — Voreifel Region South of Bonn
Wachtberg is located south of Bonn on the edge of the Voreifel — a rural municipality with about 20,000 inhabitants and several castles and historic sites. Burg Adendorf is one of the region's landmarks. Easily accessible via the A 565 and the B 257 from Bonn (approx. 20 km), Cologne (approx. 50 km), as well as from Koblenz and the Westerwald.
