Gala sessions, Weiberfasnacht, and children's costume ball by FK Lambrechter Gäsböck
For decades, the Fastnachtsklub Lambrechter Gäsböck has been the driving force behind organized Carnival in Lambrecht. The club's name refers to the centuries-old tradition of the Lambrecht goat, which is handed over to the municipality of Deidesheim once a year, earning Lambrecht the nickname "Goat Town." This local identity is also reflected in the club's activities and the Carnival program.
The gala sessions are the traditional centerpiece of Palatinate hall Carnival. On two consecutive Saturdays, the FK Lambrechter Gäsböck presents satirical speeches (Büttenreden), dance troupes, show dances, musical performances, and humorous sketches. Ticket prices are moderate, yet the stage production meets professional standards. The sessions traditionally begin at 7:11 PM, the festive opening time of Palatinate Carnival.
Weiberfasnacht on the Thursday before Rose Monday is a special variant of Carnival where women take charge. Celebrations start at 7:33 PM in the Lambrecht community center. On Carnival Sunday, the stage belongs to the children: the children's costume ball, starting at 2:11 PM, focuses on games, dancing, and showcasing the most creative costumes.
Lambrecht is located in the Speyerbach valley in the Pfälzerwald, offering a geographical contrast to the Wine Route. While major Carnival cities like Mainz or Cologne take center stage, Lambrecht cultivates a volunteer-run hall Carnival deeply rooted in the village community. The 2026 program continues this tradition.
The season follows the proven structure of the FK Lambrechter Gäsböck with two major gala sessions, a Weiberfasnacht event, and the children's costume ball on Carnival Sunday. All events take place at the Lambrecht community center and are supported by the volunteer efforts of the club members.
The detailed program for each event will be announced by the FK Lambrechter Gäsböck in advance. The structure follows the established highlights of previous years.
