Lahnsteiner Winterzauber – Christmas Markets

The Lahnsteiner Winterzauber is one of the most original Advent formats on the Middle Rhine. Instead of a single large Christmas market, Lahnstein relies on six different markets spread across Advent in Ober- and Niederlahnstein.

The concept has a clear appeal: each market has its own atmosphere, its own audience, its own location. Those who want to experience the full spectrum can visit several markets throughout Advent and discover a different side of Lahnstein each time.

The well-known romantic markets include:

• Hintermauergasse Oberlahnstein – atmospheric in a historic alley
• Friedrichssegen – in the western district, with a special local character
• Rosengarten Niederlahnstein – in the garden with special planting and atmosphere

In addition, there are other smaller markets organized by clubs, churches, or neighborhood initiatives.

The dates for 2026 build on the previous year's framework: starting probably on November 28th, 2026 (1st Advent weekend), with the main activity on the first Advent weekends (November 28-29) featuring three markets running concurrently, open daily from 11 am to 8 pm. Individual markets run over several weekends, until mid/late December.

The offerings include mulled wine, punch, Christmas specialties, regional crafts, applied arts, as well as stage programs, trombone choirs, cantatas, and family activities.
