About KuWeiBo Young Winemakers Old Streets

“Junge Winzer, alte Gassen” (Young Winemakers, Old Streets) is an original program format by KuWeiBo Nahe (Culinary, Wine, and More). On Saturday and Sunday of the Nahe season opening (April 18 and 19, 2026), guided wine walks through the historic old town of Bad Kreuznach will start from Kornmarkt at 4:30 PM each day. Four to five young winemakers from the Nahe region will accompany the tours, serving their wines at various stations and sharing stories from their lives as winemakers.

The concept combines two strengths: the historic city backdrop with its half-timbered houses, narrow alleys, and atmospheric squares, and the next generation of Nahe winemakers with their modern styles and ideas. An intimate tour for up to about 20 participants per date – advance registration is mandatory.

Young Winemakers – The New Face of the Nahe

The Nahe region has been experiencing a renaissance of younger winemakers for years, who are either taking over family businesses or establishing their own wineries. They experiment with modern vinification methods, organic farming, unsulfured wines, Pet-Nat sparkling wines, orange wines, and new grape varieties. In the “Junge Winzer, alte Gassen” format, this generation comes together to showcase their unique style.

Old Streets – The Old Town of Bad Kreuznach

The old town of Bad Kreuznach is characterized by narrow alleys, half-timbered facades, small squares, and hidden courtyards. Starting from Kornmarkt, the tour leads through the medieval street network, past the Pauluskirche, through the Hochstraße and the Brückenviertel with its famous bridge houses over the Nahe river. At atmospheric locations – courtyards, small squares, building entrances – the winemakers set up their tasting stations.

Tour Itinerary

The meeting point is at 4:30 PM at Kornmarkt. After a welcome and distribution of tasting glasses, the tour begins: the group walks through the old town, stopping at approximately four to five stations. At each station, one of the young winemakers presents one or two wines, explains their philosophy, their winery, and the terroir. Small culinary bites accompany the tasting. The tour concludes after about two hours with a final stop.
