An upscale dinner evening at the Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg with art appreciation of the Julian Charrière exhibition Midnight Zone — on May 22, 2026, starting at 5:30 PM
The May edition of Kunst & Musica opts for the Eat & Art format on May 22, 2026: a culinary evening at the Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg meets art appreciation of the exhibition Julian Charrière. Midnight Zone. It begins at 5:30 PM at the Kunstmuseum, Hollerplatz 1.
The format combines fine dining with a guided tour, discussion, and encounter — a special variation of the museum evening that positions the Kunstmuseum as a meeting place for an art-affine public.
While the January edition of Kunst & Musica offers a classic concert evening in conjunction with the Mirga Tas exhibition, the May edition focuses on the Eat & Art format: culinary staging in the museum, combined with curated art appreciation. Both formats are under the common brand of Kunst & Musica.
The Swiss-French artist Julian Charrière (born 1987) is one of the most important voices in contemporary art at the intersection of natural science, ecology, and visual research. His works are often created in extreme landscapes — from the Antarctic to deep-sea trenches — and address the Anthropocene, the relationship between humans and the Earth, and between time and depth. The exhibition Midnight Zone refers to the mesopelagic zone of the oceans at depths of 200 to 1,000 meters, where no sunlight reaches.
The Eat & Art format combines a multi-course menu with a visit to the exhibition. The dishes are thematically coordinated with the exhibition; between courses, curators lead tours through selected works. This creates an immersive evening that appeals to multiple senses.
The format is aimed at connoisseurs, art lovers, members of the support group, and visitors who want to experience the museum outside of regular opening hours. The contingent is limited; advance booking is required.
