Curated evening format at the Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg with an exclusive tour of the Mirga-Tas exhibition and a Baroque concert by the ensemble Il Rossignolo on January 30, 2026
Kunst & Musica combines a curated exhibition tour with a Baroque concert on Friday, January 30, 2026, at the Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg. Starting at 5 PM, an exclusive tour of the exhibition Małgorzata Mirga-Tas. An Alternative History will be followed at 7 PM by a Baroque concert by the Italian ensemble Il Rossignolo — Martino Noferi, Marica Testi, Stefano Barneschi, and Ottaviano Tenerani — with soprano Eilika Wünsch.
The event is a collaboration with the Italian Consulate General and the Volkswagen Group, positioning the Kunstmuseum as an interface between visual art, classical music, and international diplomacy.
The concept of Kunst & Musica goes beyond classic concert evenings. An exclusive tour of a current exhibition is combined with a high-caliber concert — guests experience the museum as a total work of art, where curatorial and musical elements enter into dialogue.
Polish Roma artist Małgorzata Mirga-Tas represented Poland at the Venice Biennale in 2022 and is considered one of the most important contemporary voices focusing on Roma history and identity. Her large-format textile collages combine personal memory, historical reflection, and communal narrative tradition. The exhibition at the Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg presents major works and new pieces.
The ensemble Il Rossignolo was founded in Florence and is among the most distinguished ensembles on the Italian early music scene. The core quartet with Martino Noferi (oboe/recorder), Marica Testi (traverso), Stefano Barneschi (violin), and Ottaviano Tenerani (harpsichord) will be joined in Wolfsburg by German soprano Eilika Wünsch.
The collaboration with the Italian Consulate General and the Volkswagen Group lends the event a special touch: it is part of a broader program to foster German-Italian cultural relations.
The tour begins at 5 PM, the concert at 7 PM. An opportunity for an aperitif and conversation will be available in the museum foyer between the two program points.
