Since 1998 at Schloss Salder
What began in 1998 as a municipal summer concert series has developed over the years into one of the most distinguished open-air festivals in southeastern Lower Saxony. The organizer is the cultural department of the City of Salzgitter, which curates a high-caliber lineup for Kultursommer annually, combining stylistic diversity with crowd-pulling acts. The historic castle courtyard provides an intimate setting for around 2,000 spectators per evening and ensures exceptionally good acoustics due to its architectural enclosure.

Historic Setting
Schloss Salder is a Renaissance castle built in the 17th century, which today houses the Städtisches Museum Salzgitter. The castle courtyard, enclosed by quarry stone walls, and the adjacent Mühlengarten with its old mill wheel form an extraordinary backdrop for summer open-air concerts. Admission begins at 6:30 PM each day – ample time to explore the museum or the castle gardens before the concert.

Tickets are available through the advance booking points Eventim, Reservix, and the concert agency Piekert. Prices vary depending on the artist – starting from approx. €44 for Suzi Quatro and approx. €49 for Schiller, up to approx. €55 for Apocalyptica.
Kultursommer Salzgitter — edition 2026
The cultural department of the City of Salzgitter once again brings a lineup to the stage with Kultursommer 2026 that skillfully combines stylistic diversity and crowd-pulling acts.
