Kultursommer Wannsee — edition 2026

Liebermann Villa – A Summer House as a Concert Hall
The Liebermann Villa on Wannsee, at Colomierstraße 3, was the summer house of Berlin painter Max Liebermann (1847–1935) and is now a museum and center for the Max Liebermann Society. The garden, designed by Liebermann himself in the style of the early 20th-century reform movement, is regularly used for concerts, readings, and social evenings in the summer. In 2026, the museum celebrates its 20th anniversary with an expanded summer program.
"Kontraste in Blech" – June 29, 2026
The benefit concert series kicks off on Monday, June 29, 2026, at 7:15 PM with the Trumpet Quintet of the German Symphony Orchestra Berlin. The program "Kontraste in Blech" contrasts baroque and modern trumpet sounds – a format that presents both the sonic tradition (Bach, Telemann, Purcell) and contemporary brass music. Admission from 6:30 PM with a welcome drink in the garden.
"Zwischen Welten" – August 11, 2026
The second evening, Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at 7:00 PM, features the Anna Margolina Trio with "Zwischen Welten": Jazz singer Anna Margolina sets poems by the early 20th-century Yiddish poet Anna Margolin to music. The repertoire combines jazz, folk, soul, and pop influences, creating a clear bridge between Jewish cultural history and the contemporary Berlin jazz scene. Admission from 6:30 PM with a welcome drink.
Proceeds for Renovation
The proceeds from both concerts will go towards the renovation of the Liebermann Villa's ground floor, scheduled for 2026/2027. The "Benefit Concert" format thus combines a classical cultural offering with a concrete museum-political purpose. Both concerts can be booked independently.
