Open-air concert series in the baroque Museumshof Fulda
The Museumshof Fulda is located in the middle of the baroque old town, framed by the Vonderau Museum, the city palace wall, and old trees. It is precisely into this courtyard that the Fuldaer Zeitung relocates its open-air series "Kultur findet Stadt" year after year — transforming the inner courtyard into an intimate, acoustically dense concert arena.
The series is deliberately broad: Pop, Indie, Rock, Schlager, Reggae, Chanson, Medieval Rock, Hip-Hop, children's concerts, and cabaret alternate over just under two weekends. Most evenings are held as standing shows for around 2,000 visitors, while individual concerts (cabaret, quieter acts) are seated for about 900 guests. A raised platform for wheelchair users is available.
What began as a small summer series is now a firm fixture in Fulda's summer cultural calendar. For years, the team has mixed young bands with established stars, regional acts with international headliners. Max Herre & Joy Denalane, LaBrassBanda, Culcha Candela, FAUN, and Bosse have all graced the stage — and in 2026, Philipp Poisel, Zaz, Gentleman, Beyond the Black, and Subway to Sally + Schandmaul are among those scheduled.
Between sets, partner caterers provide wines, regional beers, cocktails, and non-alcoholic drinks. The baroque courtyard, warm summer evenings, and the feeling of experiencing a festival in the middle of the city rather than on a green field are what make "Kultur findet Stadt" so appealing.
In 2026, Fulda is already a top cultural city in Hesse as the host of the 63rd Hessentag (June 12–21). "Kultur findet Stadt" immediately follows this atmosphere in August — those who missed the Hessentag get a second chance for a grand live experience in the cathedral city at the Museumshof.
Spread over two August weeks, stars from various genres will perform in the Museumshof: Pop, Indie, Rock, Schlager, Reggae, Medieval Rock, Chanson, and children's programs. Most shows are standing concerts (around 2,000 seats), and some evenings are seated.
Admission usually 6:30 PM–7:00 PM, show starts at 8:00 PM. Program as of Spring 2026 — subject to change.
Tickets per show approx. €38.40 to €71.50. Advance sales via kulturfindetstadt-fulda.de, Reservix, Eventim, and at the offices of the Fuldaer Zeitung. Individual concerts tend to sell out quickly.
Fulda main station is an ICE hub (Frankfurt–Kassel–Berlin) — about a 10-minute walk from the station to the Museumshof in the old town. By car, take the A7 (Fulda-Nord/-Süd exit), with parking garages near the city center.
