The big family festival on Dangast's beach – bouncy castles, magic, and food trucks
When the KüstenKinderFestival opens in Dangast, the entire peninsula comes alive. The spacious beach on the Jadebusen provides the perfect backdrop: sand underfoot, fresh North Sea air, and a program specifically designed for families with children up to about 12 years old.
The bouncy castle course stretches across the beach, combining various inflatable attractions into a small adventure landscape. From classic bouncy castles to slides and climbing elements, it has it all. Supervisors ensure a safe experience.
Several show blocks per day bring magic and music to the beach stage. Well-known family acts and magicians enchant the young audience with interactive shows that invite participation.
A selection of food trucks caters to culinary desires. From classic fries and burgers to creative street food variations, plus ice cream, fresh waffles, and drinks – there's something for every taste. Seating areas on the beach invite you to linger.
Dangast is the oldest North Sea resort on the German west coast and belongs to the town of Varel. With its beach, the famous Kurhaus (spa house), and relaxed atmosphere, it's the ideal location for a family festival of this size.
The 2026 Pentecost edition continues the successful tradition, bringing three days of fun and good spirits to Dangast beach. The Dangast spa administration and Stadtmarketing Varel GmbH are jointly organizing the festival, ensuring a smooth operation from supervision at the bouncy castles to stage technology.
The KüstenKinderFestival also marks an important season opening for Germany's oldest North Sea resort and attracts guests from the entire Friesland district as well as from Oldenburg and Bremen.
