Open-air concert series in the courtyard of the baroque Ludwigsburg Residential Palace
The courtyard of the Ludwigsburg Residential Palace — one of Europe's largest preserved baroque palaces — will be the stage for one of Germany's most extraordinary open-air series in July and August. In front of the orange palace facade, framed by the side wings of the 'Swabian Versailles', you won't be playing just anywhere, but in one of the most beautiful locations in southern Germany. This symbiosis of World Heritage atmosphere and modern live concerts is what makes KSK musicOpen so appealing.
The series kicks off on July 24 with the country-western-pop combo The BossHoss from Berlin. On July 25, Culcha Candela, one of Germany's most successful reggae-hip-hop acts, will follow on their 'MONSTA' tour. From July 28 to 29, AnnenMayKantereit will give two concerts — the Cologne pop sensation has established itself as a stadium act after 'Tommi' and '12'. On July 30, Wincent Weiss will sing his summer hits, followed by the up-and-coming pop rocker TREAM on July 31. The grand finale on August 2 will be performed by star violinist David Garrett with his monumental 'Millennium Symphony' tour.
Before and after the concerts, you can explore the palace gardens, Blühendes Barock, and Ludwigsburg's city center. At the festival itself, various catering stands will offer Baden-Swabian cuisine, international food truck options, cocktail bars, and of course, regional Württemberg wines.
The organizer is Eventstifter GmbH, which has been organizing prestigious open-air concerts in southern Germany for years. The main sponsor and namesake is Kreissparkasse Ludwigsburg — KSK customers benefit from special conditions when purchasing tickets. The festival is part of an extensive summer cultural program by the city of Ludwigsburg, alongside the Ludwigsburg Palace Festival and the Palace Theatre Summer.
Ludwigsburg, just 12 kilometers north of Stuttgart, is the fourth-largest city in the Stuttgart metropolitan area. Built by Duke Eberhard Ludwig between 1704 and 1733, the Residential Palace, with its 452 rooms, is one of the largest preserved baroque complexes in Europe. The adjacent Blühendes Barock palace park, a unique mix of baroque garden, modern landscape park, and fairy tale garden, is one of the most visited garden complexes in Germany.
KSK musicOpen 2026 is spread over ten days at the end of July and beginning of August. The series kicks off with The BossHoss on July 24 — the Berlin-based country-rock band brings cowboy hats and danceability to the palace facade. On July 25, Culcha Candela follows with their 'MONSTA' tour, and on July 28 and 29, AnnenMayKantereit take the stage for two concerts.
On July 30, Wincent Weiss takes over with his summer hits, followed by the young pop rocker TREAM on July 31. The grand finale on August 2 is by David Garrett with his monumental 'Millennium Symphony' tour — classical meets pop-rock against a baroque palace backdrop.
