Grand carnival parade through Bad Kreuznach city centre with approx. 60,000 spectators
Over the decades, the Kreiznacher Narrefahrt has developed into one of the largest carnival parades in Rhineland-Palatinate north of Mainz. It is deeply rooted in Bad Kreuznach's carnival tradition and is supported by the city's Carnival Committee, which includes clubs, initiatives, and showmen.
The parade comprises over 80 entries, including carnival clubs, float construction groups, guards, music bands, dance groups, and walking groups. The themed floats often comment on political and local events with a sharp wit, which is characteristic of Rhenish carnival culture. Approximately 60,000 spectators line the route, which leads through the central city centre.
The route traditionally runs via Hochstraße, Wilhelmstraße, Baumgartenstraße, Mannheimer Straße, Salinenstraße, Schlossstraße, Roßstraße to Kornmarkt. It starts at 1:33 PM, the jester's time in Rhenish carnival. During the parade, the streets are closed to traffic; the city recommends arriving by public transport or on foot.
Already on the Thursday before the Narrefahrt, the Narrenkäfig takes place, a traditional opening event for Bad Kreuznach's carnival-goers, which begins at 11:11 AM in the city centre. Speeches, music, and activities herald the final phase of the carnival season.
The 2026 edition continues the tradition of the Kreiznacher Narrefahrt, once again bringing together clubs, float construction groups, guards, and music bands for one of the largest carnival parades in Rhineland-Palatinate north of Mainz. Due to central city centre closures, arrival by public transport or on foot is recommended.
The complete list of entries with all participating clubs will be published by the Kreiznacher Narrefahrt in the winter. The structure follows the proven key points of previous years.
