Lifestyle Market at the Historic Racecourse

When the Lower Rhine sun breaks through the Art Nouveau buildings of the Krefeld Racecourse in October, the Krefelder Herbstzauber begins — one of North Rhine-Westphalia's established lifestyle and garden fairs. In 2026, the fair runs from Friday, October 16th, to Sunday, October 18th. The organizer is Reno Müller Veranstaltungen, who also stages the same brand at other racecourses in Germany.

The Setting — 100 Years of Art Nouveau

The Krefeld Racecourse is one of Germany's most beautiful horse racing venues. The main buildings — grandstand, betting office, restaurant — date from the early decades of the 20th century and are built in the Art Nouveau style. This architecture forms the unique backdrop for the Herbstzauber stands, which are spread around the grandstand, parade ring, and infield.

160 Selected Exhibitors

The Herbstzauber is a curated event. The 160 exhibitors are selected by the organizers based on quality and originality. The thematic areas:

• Gastronomy: Manufacturers of oils, vinegars, wines, cheeses, chocolates, spices, teas, whiskies, gins.
• Home: Furniture, textiles, home accessories, ceramics, glassware, lighting.
• Garden: Perennial and rose breeders, garden furniture, garden decor, tools, planters.
• Fashion: Women's, men's, children's fashion, shoes, bags, jewelry.
• Art: Painters, photographers, sculptors, artisans.

Family Program

Beyond a mere sales fair, an extensive family program characterizes the Herbstzauber: hands-on activities for children, culinary workshops, garden talks, fashion shows, live music during breaks. Live demonstrations directly at the stand are a hallmark — many exhibitors produce their goods live in front of the audience.

Krefeld — the City of Velvet and Silk

Krefeld is an independent city in North Rhine-Westphalia on the western Lower Rhine, traditionally known as the City of Velvet and Silk — the textile industry shaped the 19th century. Today, Krefeld is an industrial and residential city with 240,000 inhabitants, excellent transport links, and a charming old town. The racecourse is located in the western district of Bockum, nestled within the Stadtwald (city forest).
