Salon Culture at Villa Irmgard

Villa Irmgard in Heringsdorf is more than just a concert hall: it is the only Maxim Gorky Memorial Museum in Germany. The Russian writer stayed at the villa for a cure in 1922 – since then, the place has become a focal point of culture in the Kaiserbäder. The villa is located at Maxim-Gorki-Straße 13 in Heringsdorf, one of the three Baltic Sea resorts in the municipality of Ostseebad Heringsdorf in the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

Concert Season from May to January

The Villa Irmgard Summer Concerts is not a compact festival week, but a continuous concert series running from May into the new year. The 2026 program includes:

• May 26 – Martin Müller: "The Art of Brazilguitar"
• June 11 – January 3, 2027 – Marina & Iryna Nikoriuk: "Opera and Operetta" (several dates)
• June 18 – Gorki Evening: Hannes Rittig reads "Konowalow" on the 90th anniversary of his death
• June 23 – Arnold Krohne & Maxim Shagaev: "Chanson a la carte"
• June 25 – Maxim Shagaev: "Eine musikalische Weltreise" (A Musical Journey Around the World)

Gorki Evening on the 90th Anniversary of His Death

A special highlight is the literary Gorki Evening on June 18, 2026. Actor Hannes Rittig from Greifswald will read from Gorky's story "Konowalow". The story contains autobiographical elements of the writer; loud reading plays a central role in the text – a double connection to the venue. Heringsdorf and Gorky are historically linked; the writer stayed in the Baltic Sea resort several times.

Intimate Atmosphere and Ticket Prices

Villa Irmgard offers an intimate, salon-like concert atmosphere – ideal for chamber music, literary readings, and solo programs. Admission from 16 EUR. The concerts are part of the regular cultural program of the Kaiserbäder in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district.
