Large Advent market at the Brickworks Museum with around 80 stalls
The Jockgrim Brickworks Museum commemorates the industrial historical significance of the place: For over a century, Jockgrim was a centre of Palatinate brick production. The old brick buildings, kilns, and production halls now house the museum and serve as the backdrop for the Knuspermarkt during Advent. This combination of industrial history and festive Christmas spirit gives the market its distinctive character.
With around 80 stalls, the Knuspermarkt is one of the larger Advent markets in the Südpfalz region. The offerings range from high-quality handicrafts – ceramics, wood, textiles, jewellery, glass art – to regional specialities such as honey, jams, liqueurs, and Palatinate wine, as well as classic market fare. Food stalls offering mulled wine, punch, bratwurst, potato pancakes, crêpes, and sweet baked goods provide the culinary delights.
The market uses both the Brickworks Museum and the neighbouring community centre, as well as the outdoor area between them. The community centre provides indoor space for stalls and stage performances, while the outdoor area offers space for food stalls and a larger market hall. This provides protection from the weather in case of cold or rain.
A stage programme featuring choirs, brass bands, soloists, and Christmas music runs on all three days. A children's programme with craft activities, storytelling, and possibly visits from St. Nicholas or the Christkind is aimed at families. The opening hours – Friday 6 p.m., Saturday 3 p.m., Sunday 11 a.m. – are chosen to appeal to a different audience each day.
The complete list of stalls and stage programme for 2026 will be published by the Jockgrim administrative district at vg-jockgrim.de. The key details (around 80 stalls, opening hours, 2nd Advent weekend, location at the Brickworks Museum and Community Centre) are confirmed by official communications and suedpfalz-tourismus.de.
