By including Borkum in the GKA Kite World Tour 2026, East Frisia will host a top event from international kiteboarding for the first time. The schedule and heats will be dictated by the wind: under optimal conditions, qualifications, eliminations, and the final will be held; in case of calm, the heats will be postponed within the event window from Wednesday to Sunday.
The event area directly at the North Sea resort is free to enter and is integrated into the ongoing island offerings. The athletes will be present throughout the festival weekend – autograph sessions and meet-and-greets are planned.
