Kita Singt — Children's Choir Festival Wolfsburg Castle

A Major Project for the City

With 550 children from 31 daycares, Kita Singt is the largest cooperation project that the Wolfsburg Music School implements in its annual program. For several months, the children rehearse in their facilities together with educators, supported by pedagogical music materials from the music school. Song selection, sheet music, and didactic instructions are provided centrally — thus creating a common repertoire that becomes a city event on the performance day in the castle garden.

The Summer Stage in the Baroque Garden

The summer stage in the Baroque Garden of Wolfsburg Castle is one of the most beautiful open-air venues in the city. A program spanning several weeks brings concerts, theater, dance, and children's events into the historic ambiance. Kita Singt is one of the emotional highlights of the summer stage program.

Repertoire

The songs are typically summery, open-themed, easy to sing, and adapted for children's voices. Classic children's songs are combined with modern pop arrangements, action songs, and simple experiments with multi-part singing. The children are accompanied by a band or piano.

Early Childhood Music Education

Behind the festival is the music-pedagogical aim of bringing as many Wolfsburg children of daycare age as possible into contact with singing, music, and movement. The music school works closely with the daycares and the city administration.

Free Admission and Family-Friendly

Admission is free. Parents, grandparents, siblings, and all interested parties are welcome. Seating and picnic areas in the Baroque Garden offer ample space.
