Village Fair in the Westerwald

For generations, the Kirmes Oberahr has been a fixture on the summer calendar of the local community within the Wallmerod collective municipality. It is listed in the official community event calendar and is supported by the village community. The Wallmerod collective municipality is known for its dense network of Kirmes, where dates are carefully coordinated so that each community has its fixed place in the summer.

Three Days of Program

The Kirmes extends over the weekend from Saturday to Monday. Programmatically, it follows the proven Westerwald Kirmes rituals with marquee opening, dance evening, morning pint (Frühschoppen) with club participation, family afternoon, and closing evening. Carousels, food stalls, and sweet stands complement the marquee program.

Village Community Hall as the Centerpiece

The Oberahr village community hall forms the spatial and social center of the Kirmes. The marquee is erected here, or the program is celebrated within the hall's premises. Clubs, women's groups, and youth groups participate with catering, cake buffets, and small contributions.

Nestled in the VG Wallmerod

Oberahr is located on the edge of the northern Westerwald district in the Wallmerod collective municipality. The Kirmes is an expression of a vibrant club landscape that is active throughout the year and becomes particularly visible in the summer during the Kirmes.
