Westerwald Village Fair
The Kirmes Eitelborn is one of the traditional summer kirmes (fairs) of the Montabaur administrative district and is anchored in the official 2026 Kirmes calendar of the VG Montabaur (as of October 2025). It continues a long tradition of Westerwald kirmes dates, which take place every weekend of the summer in a different municipality within the administrative district, shaping rural festival life.
Four Days of Programme
From 14 August 2026 to 17 August 2026, the kirmes offers a classic Westerwald programme including the opening of the festival tent with a keg tapping ceremony, dance and disco evenings, Frühschoppen (morning pint) on Sunday with club participation, and a family afternoon with coffee, cake, and carousels. Food stalls, sweet shops, and drink stands complement the festival tent events.
Club and Village Life
The local clubs and the municipal council are the organisers of the kirmes, pooling their resources for the joint summer festival. The fire brigade, sports clubs, music clubs, carnival associations, and youth groups participate in the programme and catering. This makes the kirmes more than just an amusement park: it is an expression of a vibrant village community and living tradition in the Westerwald.
