Rumeln-Kaldenhausen is located in western Duisburg, in the Rheinhausen district, across the Rhine bridge. The historic Rumeln Market Square with its village church forms the centre of this district, which has retained its own identity despite being incorporated in 1975. It is precisely here that the small, fine Rumeln Fair takes place every spring — an event that operates without major headlines and is precisely why it is so popular with residents.

The Concept — Compact and Family-Friendly

Unlike Duisburg's major fairs (such as the Pentecost Fair on the Stadtsportplatz), the Rumeln Spring Fair is manageable. The market square has space for a handful of rides, several snack and sweet stalls, and a few shooting galleries and claw machines. This makes the fair ideal for families with small children: short distances, a clear selection, no sensory overload. With a few euros in coins, a child can spend a whole afternoon here.

Three Days, Three Moods

• Saturday, April 18: Opening day, many families in the afternoon, younger adults in the evening with beer and currywurst.
• Sunday, April 19: Family Day — the highest attendance, grandparents with grandchildren, strollers.
• Monday, April 20: Winding down, often with reduced prices and a relaxed atmosphere.
