Carnival for the Little Ones

While adult carnival with its speeches, show dances, and after-show parties primarily targets teenagers and adults, the Kindkappensitzung has a different purpose: it is the gateway to the carnival world for children. With a child-friendly program, show acts at a volume and duration that children can handle, and small rewards, enthusiasm for Fastnacht (carnival) is awakened early.

Eifeler Hof as a Festival Hall

The Eifeler Hof in Kyllburg is a traditional hall building that has served as the town's meeting and festival venue for decades. It hosts sessions, club celebrations, and cultural events. The hall offers ample space for families with small children, a stage for performances, and enough room for play and dance areas.

Program of the Session

The Kindkappensitzung begins at 2:11 PM and offers a two-hour program. Children's dance troupes perform in elaborately designed costumes, a session president moderates in a child-friendly manner, and interactive games are integrated into the session. A tombola with small prizes adds extra excitement. Refreshments such as cocoa, tea, juice, and cake are offered by the club.

Carnival Club Kyllburg

KV Kyllburg is a traditional carnival society in the municipality of Kyllburg in the Eifelkreis Bitburg-Prüm district. During the winter months, in addition to the Kindkappensitzung, it also organizes an adult session, a parade, and smaller events. The club's work has grown over generations and is an integral part of Kyllburg's club life.

Free Admission — A Club Decision

KV Kyllburg's decision to forgo admission fees for the Kindkappensitzung is a deliberate one. Families — especially larger ones with multiple children — should be able to participate without worry. The club covers some of its expenses through voluntary donations and refreshment sales.
